The capital of traditional umbrellas is Pindaya. As in the last century, sun umbrellas are made in local workshops using old technology by hand. The process is like cooking. First, the fibers of the paper tree are dried, and then boiled for 10 hours. The softened wood is fought off with beaters, again filled with water and dyes and whipped, as if with a whisk, with a stick with hooks. The resulting jelly mass is sent to the pan with a mesh bottom. From above lay out a decor: flowers and leaves. Then the grid is raised, excess water is drained. The paper-flower mass, settled in an even layer on the bottom, is sent to dry. From the resulting paper, cut out the cloth of the umbrella and attach it to the reed spokes. The handle is made of bamboo. Ornament traced on finished products.
